Jelvis Kwame Baidoo Opens Up on Leadership, Politics and Community Service
On Monday, January 19, Jelvis Kwame Baidoo, Founder and Team Lead of the Jelvis Foundation, appeared on Y979 Takoradi for an interview with Nana Quasi Wusu on The Drive, ahead of the Foundation’s much-anticipated youth training initiative in Effiakuma.

The interview focused on leadership, community development, and the Jelvis Foundation’s newly announced Free Skilled Training Programme 2026, an initiative designed to equip young people in Effia Kuma with practical, income-generating skills. According to Mr. Baidoo, the programme forms part of the Foundation’s long-term vision to empower youth, promote entrepreneurship, and stimulate sustainable development within the community.
The Free Skilled Training Programme 2026 will provide hands-on training in detergent production, skincare products, and dairy processing, including yogurt production. These areas were carefully selected to meet local market demand while offering participants the opportunity to start small-scale businesses upon completion. The programme is expected to benefit dozens of young people and reduce unemployment by encouraging self-reliance and innovation.
During the interview, Nana Quasi Wusu highlighted Mr. Baidoo’s long-standing leadership journey, from his early years through junior high school, senior high school, tertiary education, and into national-level community engagement. This led to a direct question on whether he harbours any political ambitions.
Responding candidly, Jelvis Kwame Baidoo emphasized that leadership has always been central to his life, but his current focus remains service through community development. He stated that he was “born a leader” and continues to lead through impact-driven initiatives rather than political positioning. He added that while politics is shaped by community interest, any future consideration would depend entirely on the will of the people and a careful evaluation of what such a role would require.
“I am focused on serving and building my community,” he explained, noting that leadership goes beyond titles and is best demonstrated through action and responsibility.

The conversation reinforced Mr. Baidoo’s reputation as a grassroots leader committed to empowering young people and strengthening communities through practical solutions rather than rhetoric. Nana Quasi Wusu commended the Jelvis Foundation for its consistency and growing influence in Effiakuma and beyond.
As the Free Skilled Training Programme 2026 approaches, anticipation continues to build among the youth of Effia Kuma, many of whom see the initiative as a timely opportunity to acquire valuable skills and create sustainable livelihoods.
The Jelvis Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in people, stressing that when young people are empowered, communities thrive.
