Jelvis Foundation Extends Support to Barbers in Effia Kuma Community
The Jelvis Foundation has once again demonstrated its commitment to community empowerment with the launch of a new initiative aimed at supporting barbers within the Effia Kuma community. The initiative focuses on providing essential barbering equipment to local barbers who need support to sustain and grow their businesses.

This intervention comes at a time when many small-scale artisans continue to face challenges in accessing quality tools due to rising costs and limited capital. By stepping in, the Jelvis Foundation seeks to ease this burden while promoting self-reliance and economic stability among skilled workers in the community.
According to the Foundation, the initiative is part of its broader mission to empower youth and artisans through practical support rather than short-term aid. Barbering, a key trade within Effia Kuma, provides employment for many young people and serves as a vital source of income for families. Supporting this sector therefore has a direct impact on livelihoods and local economic growth.
Speaking on the initiative, Founder and Team Lead of the Jelvis Foundation, Mr. Jelvis Kwame Baidoo, emphasized the importance of investing in skills already present within the community. He noted that when artisans are given the right tools, they are better positioned to create sustainable income and contribute meaningfully to development.
“Empowering people with the tools they need to work is one of the most effective ways to build strong communities. This support for barbers in Effia Kuma is about dignity, opportunity, and long-term impact,” he said.
The announcement, which has been well received by residents, invites barbers from Effia Kuma to register and express interest in receiving equipment support. This transparent and inclusive approach ensures that the initiative reaches those who genuinely need assistance.
Community members have praised the Foundation for its consistency and grassroots focus. Many see the barber support initiative as a continuation of Jelvis Foundation’s ongoing efforts, which include skills training, youth empowerment programmes, and community-based development projects across the Effia Kuma area.

Beyond equipment donation, the initiative also aims to inspire young people to take pride in vocational skills and view trades such as barbering as viable and respectable career paths. By spotlighting artisans and investing in their growth, the Foundation is helping to reshape perceptions around skilled work.
As Christmas festivities continue, the Jelvis Foundation describes the initiative as a reminder that giving does not end with celebrations. Instead, it is a continuous responsibility to uplift others and create opportunities that last beyond the season.
With this latest intervention, Jelvis Foundation once again reinforces its commitment to practical community development, proving that meaningful change begins with empowering people at the grassroots level.
