Jelvis Foundation Expands Free2Connect WiFi: Phase 2 Coverage Begins in Effia
The Jelvis Foundation is excited to announce the commencement of Phase 2 of its Free2Connect WiFi expansion project, aimed at delivering broader, faster, and more reliable internet coverage to residents of Effia and surrounding areas. This next phase forms part of the Foundation’s commitment to empowering communities through improved digital access and technological inclusion.

Over the past months, the Free2Connect WiFi initiative has significantly transformed how people in Effiakuma and parts of Effia access the internet—providing free, uninterrupted connectivity for education, work, research, and communication. With continued community demand and the growing need for digital support, the Foundation has moved swiftly into expanding its network reach.
Phase 2 Areas Included
The new installations will provide strong WiFi coverage for key areas in Effia, including:
- Effia Ahenfia
- Effia CHIP Hospital Area
- Effia Community Centre Zone
- Washing Bay Stretch
- Additional extended routes within Effia and its environs
These locations were carefully selected based on community feedback, population density, and the need for accessible internet to support everyday activities such as online learning, business operations, digital payments, and entertainment.
To ensure seamless connectivity, the Jelvis Foundation technical team is currently installing new high-performance WiFi Access Points (APs) across the designated locations. The upgraded infrastructure will guarantee:
- Faster speeds
- Better device handling
- Wider coverage radius
- Reduced connection interruptions
Community members may briefly experience account expiration notifications or service interruptions while installations and network upgrades are ongoing. The Foundation assures the public that this is part of the process and services are restored progressively as each zone is completed.

The Free2Connect WiFi project remains a flagship effort under the Jelvis Foundation’s vision of building an empowered community where digital access is not determined by financial limitation. By extending coverage further into Effia, the Foundation is ensuring that more families, students, business owners, and workers benefit from equal opportunities in the digital space.
By the end of November, residents across Effia and its surrounding communities will begin to enjoy the full coverage of Phase 2, marking another significant milestone in the Foundation’s mission to bridge the digital divide.
The Jelvis Foundation extends its gratitude to community members for their patience, support, and cooperation throughout this expansion process. Together, we continue to build a more connected future.
