Jelvis Foundation Secures Free WiFi Project in Effiakuma, Blocks X-Rated Sites, and Prepares for Phase Two
Since May 2025, the Jelvis Foundation has been at the forefront of digital inclusion in Effiakuma through its Free WiFi initiative. The project has quickly become a lifeline for students, remote workers, small businesses, and families who now have access to fast and reliable internet.
But beyond providing free internet, the foundation has taken a bold step to ensure that the service remains safe, responsible, and community-centered. Founder and leader Mr. Jelvis Kwame Baidoo announced that x-rated websites have been fully blocked on the network to protect children and young people from harmful content.

Internet access comes with both opportunities and challenges. While it opens doors to education, innovation, and communication, it can also expose users to inappropriate content. Mr. Baidoo emphasized that the Jelvis Foundation is committed to focusing on the positive side of the internet.
“In as much as we want to provide it for free, we also don’t want it to be abused. We know the internet has both good and bad sides, but we are dwelling on the positivity. Since even children below 18 can connect, the goal is for them to use it for research, assignments, and self-improvement. Anything that can derail that purpose has been restricted.” – Jelvis Kwame Baidoo
This responsible approach ensures that the community enjoys a safe digital space where learning and productivity are prioritized over harmful distractions.
The success of the first phase in Effiakuma has inspired the Jelvis Foundation to push further. Mr. Baidoo confirmed that Phase Two of the Free WiFi initiative is coming soon and will extend coverage to more parts of Effia and surrounding areas.
This expansion will continue with the same core principles:
- Free access for all.
- Safe browsing with restricted harmful sites.
- Community empowerment through digital inclusion.
The Jelvis Foundation’s Free WiFi project is not just about connecting devices—it’s about connecting people to opportunities. By blending free access with safety measures, the foundation is ensuring that the internet becomes a tool for education, innovation, and empowerment, especially for young people.
As Phase Two approaches, Effiakuma stands as a model community where digital infrastructure is designed not only to bridge the digital divide but also to protect and guide its users toward a better future.
